Hi Patrick,
first of all Cheetahwatch is a great utility and it provides 100%
what I was searching for !
I want to upgrade to SnowLeopard and I´m waiting for your
statement if you have plans for a compatible version.
please give me just an answer so I could search for a different
solution with my usb umts modem. e.g. http://www.novamedia.de/en/mac-launch2net.html

Hi,
I did a clean install of snow leopard and downloaded the driver pack from http://www.huaweidevice.com/resource/mini/200909258376/testmobile/i... for my Huawei E160.
Now I can run Cheetahwatch under 10.6.1 and I can connect to UMTS via the Apple Network Preferences but Cheetahwatch says there is no modem connected.
please helpthank you

Apologies for my delay in sorting this issue - I've had a number of personal issues (one parent passing away, the other undergoing chemotherapy for a similar cancer, and myself ending up in the emergency 4 times recently).
Please try downloading a v1.3.2b2 build from:
http://static.patrick.geek.nz/cheetahwatch/CheetahWatch_1.3.2b2.zipAnd report back with your experience.
thanks,

Absolutely. I have a version (1.4) that is working under Snow Leopard right
now. However it isn't working under Leopard. I'm hoping to get this fixed in
the next week. You can download a preview beta (note it has bugs beyond the Leopard
compatibility issue) from
CheetahWatch_1.4b2.zip<http://static.patrick.geek.nz/cheetahwatch/CheetahWatch_1.4b2.zip><http://static.patrick.geek.nz/cheetahwatch/CheetahWatch_1.4b2.zip>

This little mac app provides you with signal strength, network mode (GRPS/WCDMA/HSDPA), network name control over your connection, and statistics about your current connection (current throughput, total data transferred, connection time). It does this through a little icon in your menu bar (and a bigger window, if you want to see it), and also helps you keep track of your usage - no need for a nasty surprise from your provider.
